Hi all, I have small but continuous leak from the timing chain tensioner bolt! Now I know it is supposed to have a washer but on close inspection I cannot see a washer between the end cap and the part of the front chain cover that it bolts into. Should I be able to see a washer?
Next question if I have been stupid and forgotten to use a washer can I undo and pull out the bolt and replace same with the missing washer without fear of the chain slipping on the the lower sprocket?
Third question, could I please have a check on what the torque should be? Elsewhere on the forum I have found 'two' factory specs 22 and 40 Nm!!
Many thanks John

Hmm, will try and fix that. Was looking at your thread and saw that you used 'Gen 3' injectors? What are they?
The washer is a one- use device, you will need a new one or it will continue to leak. Nothing will happen to the timing so don't worry about that.

Ok thanks Timm. Was just searching your E38 site and reviewed your method for getting rid of trapped air in lifters. Can't wait to try it!
