Greetings people. Would any of you happen to have a set of front E31 Brembo brake calipers laying around that you would like to sell? I am about 30 miles north of Atlanta, zip code 30096. Thanks in advance.
I will have an original BMW marked Brembo left side caliper available in a few weeks. My 75k mile '95 840ci came with them from the factory, but the previous owner had the passenger side replaced for some reason, and with the new style (which don't come with the BMW logo). It's been bugging me for a while now not having matching new style calipers, and then I suddenly got a sale ad from ECS. $560 for a new driver's side caliper, so I got it and will be installing it soon. So sadly I don't have the original passenger side caliper, but I will have the driver's side for sale soon.

Logo? Mine has no logos. Are they cast into the caliper? Or an add on decal when refinished?

I believe they are just a painted logo. Seems silly to replace a caliper for that alone.
What "thumbs up" really means
Yup silly for sure... Like the other guy who paid $750 for four OEM 840 chrome tips. This sort of madness runs rampant in the E31 world! Lol
But aside from getting matching calipers visually, I also wondered why the original caliper failed to the point of needing replacement, so I thought I'd replace it for mechanical refreshing as well.
840 calipers, ie the 4 pot Brembos are notorious for seizing the inner pistons. The dirt seal arrangement is terrible on these calipers and with alloy pistons, it does not take much to seize them up.

I must get both sides at once. I have everything needed to convert my E46 M3's stock ATE calipers to Brembo calipers on all four corners. The rears are getting the 996 Porsche calipers from a 22K mileage car and the fronts will be getting the E31 Brembo calipers. I picked not to use the 996 Porsche front calipers due to the brake bias in the E46 M3. Please let me know if you guys come across any E31 Brembo calipers. Thanks in advance.
I am using large Brembos type B/H 4-piston calipers on my '91 with BMW M3 360mm rotors and brakes work great, but adapters are required! Maybe someone can add more info here but I would suspect that the BMW Brembos used on the E31 were used on other models of cars.
I just haven't figured out what Brembos can be used on the back of car. No one offers an adapter at this time. Trying to determine which rotor will work with emergency brake shoes and then having an adapter made is not easy to do.

He's looking for these for his E46 M3, not an 8 series, BTW...
Or, if you just want to buy them outright...

Looks like A-1 Cardone re-manufactured calipers are available at a very reasonable price: https://www.amazon.com/Cardone-19-18.../dp/B000C41E5Y (left) and https://www.amazon.com/Cardone-19-18.../dp/B000C41E72 (right) ( but i just saw they are temporarily out of stock).
Would love to find some adapters and rotors that would work with these calipers on the back of my car.

I bought a pair on Amazon a few days ago. Waiting for that magic e-mail saying "your order has shipped".
I saw the ones on ECS tuning. If this setup is going to end up costing me $2K at the end of the day, I would rather spend another $1.5K and buy a used set of 6 piston Brembo kit that is actually made for a E46 M3. I like projects and I like to reuse the rotors on my 17K mileage E46.
Below is the 22K 996 rear braks calipers.
