    Installing Remote entry module question

    95 525i Sedan

So I'm installing the Remote Keyless Entry Module I got from the JY. Still don't have a key fob, but might as well get this part done and worry about that later. Couple questions.

    1. Where is the siren/chirper located? Not sure if the car already has one installed or I need to get that from the JY too.

    2. I'm trying to run the wires to the sensor and the red light that are on the rear section of the center console. They are supposed to run under the carpet and exit under the rear portion of the console to connect to the rear console panel. I'm within a 1/4 inch of getting it all the way there but that part of the carpet is not cooperating and my hand is in all types of contorsion trying to make it work.. Other than removing the rear seat and loosening the rear part of the console, is there anything else that needs undone? Driver seat?

All the rest of the wiring under the seat is routed and plugged into the harness, just need the sensors installed and locate the siren. And get a key. I asked at Autozone if they had a generic fob for BMW and their computer said go to dealer.

Well, after searching the WWW I found the siren. Its on the passenger side, under the windshield wiper arm, behind the engine firewall, next to the blower fan.

The good news is you can select a switch on the alarm module to either use the car horn or the siren, so I'm not tearing that far to find out if the siren is there, I'll try it and if not, I'll place the switch on the module to Horn.

Got er done! Had to remove the aft portion of the center console, not just loosen it.

Still, not at all simple to thread the wires under the carpet, both my wrists are sore from pulling the carpet while trying to push the wires through.

Now to find a key fob to make it all work.
