I have a questions about performance in BMW 428i 2014 from USA.
I have found an brochure:
http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/...eries_2014.pdf
with power output data 240ps (242KM)
torque 255 lb-ft (345Nm)
And european version of same car have below data:
power output: 245KM
torque: 350Nm
I would like to ask why these data are different?
Maybe because of use fuel? USA is 91 and EU 95/98
If it is not gasoline - i would like to know what, engines are the same.
Even N26 are the same (i investigated they was also for EU in limited numbers)
Engine hardware is the same.
Of course a times 0-60mph are a bit different (but that may result from mass, however engine power output should be the same).
So, the next question is - my car have a default USA ECU (even limited for 130mph), so it is programmed only up to 91-93 octane USA gasoline or it also is able to recognize and use additional octanes from 95 or 98 in Europe.
And last one - third question - which gasoline should i use in Europe to keep best performance (i would like to achieve European power specification)? A software in a car from USA will adjust to european fuel?

USA 91 "AKI" = EU 95 RON
USA 93 "AKI" = EU 97-98 RON
The octane rating calculation is slightly different, that's why the numbers are different.
AKI = (RON + MON)/2
EU uses RON rating.
