Clicking sound/vibration when unlocking in center console under arm rest storage area

2007 BMW 335I convertible - When locking the care, I hear a clicking sound and vibration in the center console under the arm rest storage area. The vibration is strongest when you lift up the arm rest and put your hand on the floor of the storage area.

I want to fix this, are there any DIY tutorials on how to fix this? Is there an actuator that needs replaced, I am assuming there are plastic gears in an actuator in the center console? I am correct?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It is very frustrating...… Thank you for your help!

I've got the same problem but have not had time to look into it. I was wondering if you made any headway on the issue.

I will test my E93 this weekend to check for similar.
I wondering if something only fully locks if the hart top is down?
