    Broken remote

Hope someone can help... BMW 523i year 2000

I have a non working diamond shaped remote! Had changed the battery, and somehow managed to knock off one of the capacitors above the battery.....donīt ask how

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dQ_...ew?usp=sharing

Anyone know of a replacement for this capacitor? (remote is definitely not working without it)

    Thx for any replies

Definitely above my pay grade. Open your other master key. You, or an electronics expert, may be able to identify the cap.

LOL. Nobody but nobody is gonna have that answer without disassembling a good one and measuring it. Which nobody but you is gonna do I'm afraid...

    Options:
Acquire junkyard key, remove guts, swap your immob chip (and your new battery) onto its board, put into your key?
Buy cheap internet key and AK90, program the 'coffin' chip and your EWS, then put into your key?

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Have found a company that would repair the key for me ... Although €55 for a capacitor that probably costs 0,02 € seems a bit steep.

Already had the Junkyard / Used Ebay key in mind, (for parts), but nothing available at the moment. Donīt really fancy a Chinese copy..

    Nevermind, my bad ...

Buy a chinese copy it's the same STUFF. You just swap the Chinese board in and that's it. Just don't lose the tiny little immobilizer chip that's inside your current key (car won't start without it & it HAS to be coded to the EWS module in your car).
