Fresh painted wheels stained by tire shop solvent.
I can post a pic later but wanted to ask while I remembered. I recently refinished a set of E39 Style 66s. Sanded most the imperfections out and then gave them 2 good coats of paint (Wurth) and 2 coats of clear coat (Also Wurth). The rims had no tires on them, brought to the shop to have new tires mounted. They mounted one the wrong way, outside was on inside.
After I brought it in a week later to be corrected, the rim had some staining on it from the solvents/lubricants they used in the process to dismount and remount. I was surprised that it would of done that, its wont come off either. I would of thought materials they use are not harmful to wheel paint/lacquer?
Thanks
Brian
