Hello everybody this is my first post here - I just purchased my first BMW last week (2001 M3 Convertible) and I am still compiling a complete list of everything she needs. One of the first things I wanted was a more modern stereo and looking at the options available I decided to go for an Xtrons PB7846BP which is a custom built Android solution for the E46 very similar to the ***** units. I followed some YouTube videos and everything seemed to be working so I completed the installation but then about 10 minutes into a drive the radio cut out and powered off. I figured it was a faulty unit however when I went to swap back the old radio it too would not power on. My first guess was that a fuse was blown however after examining fuse 7 and 41 both appear to be fine. I've reseated all of the connections and at this point don't really know what else I should try.
Has anybody else experienced an issue like this one? Any advice is appreciated.
I suspect the amp in the trunk, not compatible with your Xtrons PB7846BP .
Hi,
I suggest finding a local, experienced and reputable car audio installer and having them fault find, rectify properly and safely your wiring.
Cheers, Dennis!
