Hi all!
I've done some light A/C work in the past, but never had to open the line. Just inherited a nice E53 X5, but it came with a broken AC. It looks to me like the compressor since the low and high side measurements are the same, whether the compressor is engaged or not. Pipes are warm or hot to the touch whether filled to 25 PSI (presumed closed) or higher. Yes I can see the clutch engaging so i've ruled out an electrical problem.
I recall that whenever you have to open the line, you also need to replace the receiver/dryer. Is there anything else that is mandatory to replace, or is just a good call, to do when you do the compressor? Seals, etc?

I'd replace the o-rings too. Make sure you get the ones ok for hvac use.
