or is it just my car ( 15 335xi MT)?
Wife came home with a an urgent Low Tire Pressure tire warning( pull over, drive slowly Blah blah)
Checked with my old school Longacre gauge and measured a whopping 4 lbs low! ( 34 vs 38).
Aired up and ran out for gas before doing reset and Sport mode wouldn't come on.
Set pressures to spec with Longacre this AM and took a drive for Reset. TPMS immediately showed a 1.2 lb difference between LR/RR which I know is not true.
So TPMS is inaccurate within a tenth of a lb? Brilliant German engineering.
A gizmo to make driving better for us is effectively a PITA
IMHO, it's the gizmos not the excellent chassis and drivetrains that hurt the value of these cars as they age.
Thanks for listening
It could be that one of the rear TPMS sensors is going bad. They are battery powered, so perhaps the battery is getting low.
Thanks, both left side tires and wheels were replaced as a result of a NYS Thruway pothole less than 1000 miles ago.
Could still have old sensors in their.
Do we know if battery affects accuracy?
All electronix are affected by erratic electrical power. The sensors in your car have a battery. However, the shop that replaced the tires could have fubar’d the sensors.
no what happen ?

Also we have had problems with the after market tire pressure battery's supplied by tire shops. I forget who is the original maker it would say on the battery use those
