I was recently able to get a few pictures and a quick video of the new M8 Grand Coupe! Take a look!

I still do not understand BMW's "new" numbering system. Originally it was 3, 5, 6, 7 and of course 8.
Then several years ago it was even numbers for 2 doors, odd numbers for 4 doors.
Then came the "grand coupes", and the numbering system went to pot.
I guess the marketing people got what they wanted.....

Because the odd numbers are for sedans and these are supposedly not sedans, but rather 4-door coupes....
Thanks for posting!
Yea I hate the grand coupe marketing BS. It's simply a checkbox for them to tack on the word "Grande" for whenever they decide to turn an even numbered series coupe into a 4 door sedan. I liked it better when it was just E90, E92, E93, etc.
Forget the marketing and numbering schemes -- I can't get to that without overlooking the elephant in the room: all the "Gran Turismo" cars are butt-ugly. I'd sooner drive a Toyota Camry than the 5 or 6 series GT -- today's Pontiac Aztek. And then you've got the styling travesties known as the X4 and X6. It's enough to make me miss the days we were lamenting what Chris Bangle was doing to the brand...
Cheers, John
All that effort to make it look ugly, even the wheels look ungainly. Surprised the marketers did not call it a M8CSi Gran Coupe GTS, but they have to reserve some so they can foist it on later model updates.
That Gran Coupe has had a nasty shunt on the left rear quarter.
Current:

1987 E28 M5 Delphin
1986 E23 M745iA Arctic Blue
1986 E24 635CSi Polaris
1976 E3 3.0 Si Arctic Blue
The more I see it, the uglier it gets.
They should have taken the i8 and make it the new "8". Build an M8i and full electric i8. A true statement car like the 8-series was at it's introduction. Different !
This "thing" (sorry can't give it a better name) is .......... should be name 0-series (anything but 8).
