I’ve recently purchased a 2006 750li that has no Aux input. I’ve learned that the built in bluetooth doesn’t play music which is a bummer. I’ve been doing a lot of research and there doesn’t seem to be a solid solution on this issue.
Question: How can I use my iPhone via bluetooth to play music and possibly answer calls? I want it to be high quality and if possible to be able to use the controls on the car to control it (volume up/down, play next, show track being played on the display, etc)
List of Possible options (saves whoever googles this a few hours of research):
1. Install Aux, then Aux to bluetooth, Aux will need to be programmed by BMW and some say it’s not compatible with the 06 model.
2. Bluetooth FM Transmitter, already tried it, quality sucks.
3. Get an app that changes sound to mono and play music thru the factory bluetooth, but again, quality will suck.
4. There is an iPod kit online that has a bluetooth add on, looks very outdated and not sure if it works or not, any insight would be appreciated.
5. Anything else?

I think you pretty much covered your options and from what i know if the car was built in late 2005 it should be able to have the aux input and is a really cheap and easy install and then just code it yourself or find someone close by that can code bmw for you and save yourself some money. and then use a bluetooth dongle like you said. this is probobly the easyest way to do it but you woud not get track on info display or stearing buttons.
or install the aux and this i think is the best option to gett what you are looking for i think https://avinusa.com/8-8-bmw-7-series...on-system.html
