Is there some code that should say zhp?
I looked at the vin of a car that the guy says is a zhp and the vin search looked just like this, nothing specifically said zhp
No e30s again.
Did you scroll down to vehicle options?
Yes, it didnt say anything so i guess no go.
Relays and fuses are good. Putting new coil packs in and the plugs look great. They are iridium though so i am not sure how those are in this engine.
No e30s again.
Well, idles sounds better but still a slight miss. It sounds like a cammed v8 now. Still the same faults though and first rev it revs up but if you hold it steady the rpms drop till its barely holding 1k

Thats the plan. I cannot find the deal for my pressure tester to screw to the valve so i will have to run down and buy a fp tester tomorrow and see what i get. I think that is the key to my trouble.
My son said that now he can spin the tires in this car but as soon as that initial pressure is depleted, its back to slow and no power.
Do you happen to know the psi output on these pumps? Is this car like an e30 where you can put a chevy vega or ford taurus pump on the bracket and save a ton of money?
No e30s again.
Reading should be about 50psi.
Sorry, know nothing about the chevy vega or ford taurus pump.
Oh well. Hope its not a bad pump but i am not holding my breathe.
No e30s again.
Ok. I found all my fuel pressure stuff but forgot mine is low pressure for setting carbs so i will still have to go buy one. I spent the time outside helping my son do some stuff on his 86 325 and in between that messed with the 330i.
So, found out the o2 sensors are not reading and the car runs in loop mode all the time. I was bored and playing with torque and tried the other displays and found the one to read to o2 sensors.
I also found a ton of halfass work done on the car that will meed fixing later on.
And, found out the door locks work. The little window with a key button is the door lock.
No e30s again.
The engine should not die if you remove the oil filler cap. You may also have a CCV system problem. I replaced those components at 200k miles.
ok. well, its not dying now. I think there are a billion little vacuum leaks. every time I touch a hose, it dissolves or breaks in half.
I will have to look again for the s767a code, thanks.
I have been procrastinating on going down and buying a fuel injection fuel pressure gage. I just get busy and don't go down so I will have to get that for the fuel pressure. when I look in torque, I found that there is a dial to see fuel pressure when the car is running but it shows zero. should the car be telling me what its pressure is or is that not something the system keeps track of?
I have this as a screen shot, for the o2 sensors.
when warming up:
fuel system status
closed loop, using o2 sensor for fuel mix
secondary air status
from outside atmosphere or off
when at temp:
fuel system status
open loop doe to system failure
secondary air status
from outside atmosphere or off
I found a write up on checking the o2 sensors. I still have to do that but could something in the computer be fried? the car quit running right when the o2 sensor harness fell on the exhaust manifold, according to the owner. the harness has been replaced but the car has not run right since then

Ok, fuel pressure is 38psi. So, thats another thing thats not good. I am not sure what other codes will clear when thats changed

Don't forget fuel filter/pressure regulator.
is that under the car? I was wonder about that since it holds rock steady at the pressure it reads. no swinging needle or anything.
No e30s again.
Yes it is, under a cover.
If you haven't ordered a fuel pump yet,
I would install a filter/regulator first, if no improvement,
then install a new pump.
I have not yet. I was thinking the same thing. depending on how late my cycling practice goes tonight, maybe crawl under the car this evening. I missed the whole weekend of riding because of a stupid bee stinging me and my hand swelling up so I need to get back on with a 65 mile race/ride coming up in 4 weeks
No e30s again.
65 miles?,
not me, I'd be lucky to race for .65 miles...lol.
Good luck with your race!
Here's a diagram if you need it:https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=13_0904
Just replace both, a pump and regulator are pretty inexpensive, relatively easy to change out. Just did them both on our 330xi, which made a vast improvement to performance.

I saw the price of the pump was really cheap. not nearly what I was expecting. I didn't check the regulator price while I was on but I can check right now
