I'm asking for opinions about the need to change the transmission and differential fluids on a low mileage (22,000) 2011 335ix (E92) that is running fine, i.e. no problems. I can afford the work, but don't want to waste money.
Yes, be safe. The car is seven years old.
No, pouring money down the drain. Follow BMW change advice and wait (60K).
ZF says: Depending on driving style (e.g. sporty driving or lots of high-speed drives), ZF Aftermarket therefore recommends a transmission oil change every 40,000 km or after 2 years at the latest.

BMW recommends once a year. That’s the time length for my 228i sport.

Don’t forget the transfer case fluid. Also, the power steering fluid needs to be changed.
Once a year for a DD is excessive for any of the fluids mentioned.
Track or Auto-X then the ZF schedule.
For a DD I schedule fluid changes mentioned at about 20k~30kmi. or 3~5yrs.,
not wasteful, but not neglectful, and remember this is with top-quality fluids only.
Regarding my post of 8/3 (Fri), I no longer need an opinion re frequency of fluid changes.
On the morning of 8/8 (Wed), my Son called me frantically. "My house is on fire; get over there right away." The fifteen minute trip took ten minutes. As I turned into his street, five fire engines greeted me. In my haste, I ran over one of the fire hose couplings.
The good news - just a little smoke damage to the house caused by cleaning rags in a trash can. The bad news - I ripped open my automatic transmission pan. Fortunately, I stopped immediately and caused no internal damage. $1,647 for a new pan.
Let the roast begin. I deserve it.

I once ended up in a neighborhood where a fire had started about 15 min before my arrival. I attempted to get out and a fire engine pulled behind me leaving no exit except over the fire hoses. I drove and did not see one of the hoses and a cop yelled at me then told me not to move my car until they were done. So there I was straddling a fire hose for a good two hours.
