    Ricciardo signs with Renault

Ricciardo is leaving Red Bull after this year and will be driving for Renault next year alongside Hulkenberg. Interesting move...

Wonder if this means Sainz will go to Red Bull. Surely he won't go back to Toro Rosso.

That's what I was thinking, but the reason Ricciardo left was Max. Do you think he would want a driver as competitive as he is for a teammate?

    Unreal.

Could be wrong but I have a feeling Ricciardo just pulled an Alonso.

Not sure that Alonso would go to RBR because

    a) Honda engines
    b) Max Verstappen being very competent.

Aside from that RBR is still a great team, so chances are that he could possibly end up going to them or else focus somewhere else like Le mans or come to America.

Daniel has been fun to watch- and deserves a "promotion" not sure that Renault will help him...too bad about all the engine issues this year.

Teaming with Max would be tough however...I suppose the choices are limited.

Yeah I'm not sure I can see Alonso at Red Bull. Can they afford him and do they want to deal with him AND Max? I also don't understand why anyone thinks Kimi would go to McLaren. He either does another season at Ferrari or he retires, IMO.

Yeah, can't see Alonso at Red Bull. Honda probably wants nothing to do with him and vice versa.

Not to mention having to deal with him and Verstappen at the same time would be a nightmare.

I think rbr wouldnt want alonso either. And theres no other top tier driver who might be able to jump in (i think kimi retires ).

The only reason I can think of Alonso going to RBR would be to help with development of the car, but the Honda bridge burned down in spectacular fashion.

He’s going to focus on Indy is my guess, win the 500, and then go to LeMans full time.

No way Alonso goes to RBR, he may be equally the most divisive and gifted driver of his generation, not RBR material imo.
