(I edited the post so it is more concise.)
Hello,
Can anyone please let me know how much whp/chp the s52b32 engine is good for without going out of its limit? And if it does, what are the things to what out for?
I am currently running about 9-10psi with 3.33 pulley and VF's vortech v3 si (about 351whp) with custom tune; the engine is running very smoothly. No heat soak. And no sign of running lean (slightly rich actually). But I've been thinking about switching to 3.15 pulley which will raise to about 11-12 psi (I'm hoping to reach 400whp potentially which is also my whp goal).
Any suggestion or advise would be appreciated very much, TIA!

So first of all, getting a belt to grip a 3.15'' pulley might be a project. You may need a lot of tension or an idler to wrap around it. Is a 3.15 a standard upgrade on this car or is this custom?

3.66 was the standard on mine, and I replaced it with 3.33. Since then, I have switched the tensioner (spring type), idler and belt to counter balance the grip.
As you mentioned, I am guessing I probably would need to do something similar this time as well.
I did some additional research since the original post, and it seems stock s52b32 motor is able to handle safely upto 450whp (or similar in wtq) with an assumption that afr and cooling are well balanced (not including tranny, drivetrain, and axles into a consideration). Does it sound right? Thanks again!

What charge cooling do you have? Detonation will be your enemy.
Yes, I will definitely have to watch the denotation until the motor is properly dialed-in.
Aside from the radiator and clutch fan (will be replacing it with a electric fan when radiator is due for replacement), I only have indirect cooling method with an oil cooler (oil temp is consistently just shy of 200F) with richer fuel. It's worked until now. And I was going to continue with the same approach (I believe there is still more room to adjust). I'm trying to see if I can get it to work without adding a "custom" intercooler... But I'm also unsure how it will handle additional boost... Thanks again!
