I have F10 525DA with 3.0 N57, produced in 6/2010.
After I bought the car I found out that compressor clutch was gone, I mean literally come off and disappeared.
Well I bought an used compressor with low mileage from Ebay, and AC worked perfectly for a month after we replaced it.
Then AC suddenly stopped working, started slowly to blow hot air only. After few days AC was working again, drove about 70km and again it was gone!
When I push AC button on, compressor clutch engages. You can hear it engage and also see the clutch spinning - so I assume compressor works like it should? Also checked refigerant and there was 750g on the system. We did fill it up to 850g and still nothing.
With Autocom tester there was a note that compressor had "break-in" mode, which we did shutdown and surprise - AC was working again but only for few kilometers
So at the moment I am totally clueless what I should do next any good ideas?
I think there might be a minor leak in the system (probably condenser), as after a month there was 750g of refigerant. But I think AC should still work, even if there was a small leak?
I did install Ista+ and was able to read fault codes:

Also did run compressor break-in mode but didnt help this time
What should I try next? Is it possible that pressure sensor is faulty? I think compressor clutch should not engage if the pressure is too high or low or there is not enough refigerant?

And one thing I want to add, when I switch AC on it will start to blow hot air - hotter than outside I think. Could water valve be faulty or the flaps?
I just found out that drier wasnt replaced when new compressor was installed. Is it possible that drier is now clogged and causing these issues?

Not an expert or professional, but The DME/DDE release message seems like the old compressor you got has a different firmware release or something and the cars computer (ECU) needs to be updated. You might take it to the dealer and get them to re-flash the program and it would start working.

Compressor has no intelligence whatsoever - its just mechanical part with simple on/off control, so no need for that. DME/DDE realease code comes on every F10/F11 series and basically means nothing.
