Hi,
I am about to buy a 2014 550i with 20k miles (from a BMW dealership) and I need your advices....
Is there anything specifically that I should check before I buy it?
What are the known issues? 2014 4.0 engine?

Hello and welcome to the forum! I would highly recommend that you get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) from an indy shop. That report should give you all the info you'll need to decide if the car is worth pursuing. Hope this helps you a bit and best of luck!

Thanks for the advice!
Meanwhile I saw that the 4.4 liter in the 550i is not really reliable until 2014.
Not sure however if 2014 is ok or if it is better to get 2015 or even a 2016 (I don’t like the 5 series G30as from 2017)
Bought a 2014 in April this year that had 40k miles on it.. I asked the dealer to provide me a copy of the service record they've performed on it, as well as the inspection report. If it's a CPO car, it has to meet certain criteria. This is what I did.
Had to take it in to get some injectors replaced, but other than that, it runs great and I've had no major issues with it.
minor issues: rear sunblind broke, auto. headlights/taillights have come on a few times in broad daylight when I park the car, not sure why yet.
