exhaust port sizes: 323i and 325i

The motor I built has a 325i head (885, IIRC). I'm wondering if the SuperSprint headers for my 323i will fit? I know they'll bolt on but are the ports bigger on the 325i head?

Looks like the e21 323i and e30 325i exhaust gaskets are the same part number on realOEM, so I'm guessing the ports are the same size.

Everything I've read, Josh, is that the 885 just "flows better" but there isn't a difference in port size... i scoured the interwebs, looking for anything.

That being said, do you have access to your 885 and 200 head? you could measure the openings and see for yourself. If not, i have access to both also... with the bonus knowledge of what the exhaust port size is of a 731 head!

I can't find anything on the web either. I looked at realoem first, before posting, and the gaskets I find are different-- the 325i ones have heat shields, may be same diameter though!

The freshly built motor is now in Sacto, so I can't simply compare. If you could, I'd appreciate it. Should have done this while both motors were here. Duh!

I see realoem actually lists them as changing over in 04/82, with the very late production e21 323i sharing the e30 325i gaskets and the earlier e21 323i sharing gaskets with the early e30 320i and 323i for a special emissions manifold, probably because the heat shields wouldn't clear it.

I can confirm the intake ports are all different on the 200/731/885 head though.

I'm assuming it's at Schatz and Krum, but if for whatever reason they can't grab the measurement I'm only a couple miles away tops.

Bonus is I'd get to see this work of art hahaha

The 323 Supersprint headers work just fine with the 885 head. I "gasket matched" the ports on the exhaust side to the 325 gasket
    No issues, no leaks.

This has been a pretty standard thing to do since the 50s with all DIY engine builds. As well as on the intake side.
