    Another hvac repair

After reading up on the hvac repair (thanks hitmanx) I have decided to start tearing into mine.

The buttons all seem to work and most functions are actually working but I have heat all the time.

The heater valve does not hold vacuum so that will be my first place to start. I removed the hose and it doesnt seem like I am getting any vacuum from the red line when the dial is set to cool.....should I be concerned with this now or wait and see what happens after the valve is replaced?

Also can the heater valve be rebuilt like the others or is it different inside?

Thanks in advance for the help, I have learned a lot through searching this forum.

I went through the tests and troubleshooting from bmw and it looks like all temperature sensors are ok.

The heater valve will get vacuum when the blower is switched to the off position, but still remains open (no vacuum) when the blower is turned on and the temperature selector is all the way down.

I will continue to troubleshoot and see what I find......

I was about to give up but I thought I might as well try any part I can from my parts car....It works! Had to replace the control unit under the drivers side. Works like new, now I just have to fix leaking pods......

If only it had a working heater valve. At least it has a few good parts. I had to drive 5 hours each way to get it but I have already robbed the transmission and now this! I paid $400 and I'd say it doesn't owe me anything now.

I recommend a new heater valve, it is plastic.

Thanks for the response I will get one coming. Most of the other pods are holding vacuum for now.....I will probably go through them this winter when I need a good project to keep me busy.

Single tit ones are easy to rebuild. Duals are a pain, Pavel knows how. I just replace duals.

Defrost, cowl, face are your duals with ACC.
