Long time member of the forum, had an E36M3, but been quite a few years since I've been on the forums or in tune with Bimmer stuff in general.
Dad just bought a CPO'd 2015 535i, he ended up getting the "BMW Platinum Extended Warranty" which covers the car bumper to bumper for 7 years/100k (essentially 2.5 more years past the CPO warranty), and the car currently has 46k miles. The Platinum extension cost was around $4k, I can cancel it anytime so I'm just trying to get an idea from you guys if its worth keeping it, as it's a pretty expensive policy. It's great peace of mind, just not sure if there are major issues that run with the 2015 535i's.
Second question, he ended up also getting the maintenance package, which covers all maintenance for 3 years for $3k. Also thinking of canceling this warranty, but not familiar with the major service intervals/costs. Dealer suggested keep the warranty until the 50k mile major service then cancel. Is this the Inspection II? What is included/costs? Worth keeping it until that milestone?
The Platinum warranty covers us until Feb 2022 or another 52k miles(100k total).
Thanks guys!

I also purchased a 2015 535i with the identical waranty. Your father is a wise man, coming from someone who is on his 4th 5 series. Enjoy your car.
