BMW 1995 325i convertible passenger (right) side window removal and replacement

This procedure also applies to 1994 and 1998 models. Sedan is probably the same. Driver side is also same except for mirror control disconnection.

Removal :

. Remove door panel by removing the 2 center grommet and screws. There is also a screw on the door closure hand. Pry the panel clips from side with screw driver or putty knife and disconnect speaker wire.
. Remove upper rubber window seal from top next to window opening by pulling on it .
. Remove upper clipped seal next to rubber seal with screw driver (this will allow space for window removal and installation)
. Remove door panel membrane
. Disconnect, separate the 2 slider clips from the 2 window channels by pulling on arms and remove 2 end pieces that holds the window. Carefully hold and lower the window. A wooden block can be used to hold the window at the proper height at this point.
. Disconnect the L shape bracket from the right sliding unit.
. Remove 2 screws and bolts from the L shape bracket attached to the window from behind window after carefully tilting window up to the right (torks screws). It would have been so easy from the front but…...
. Window is now ready for removal

Replacement :

.Reverse of removal but important : the two slider screws for the L shape bracket will now be bolted with a more simple method, from the front and not from behind (god knows why they did this this way). Do not use the small plate with welded bolts, this is practically impossible to attach from behind. Use your own or cut the bolts from the plate so you can attach them from the front. Much simpler and easyer.
.If plastic slider pins are damaged (broken plastic above pin), replace them and clean and grease (lithium white) the horizontal sliding channels and also the right vertical slider
. You may have to reprogram the window lift sequence by inserting key and turning it clockwise for 5 seconds for both windows.

This is not an easy job so be patient and carefull, the window is fragile.
