2001 330ci convertible wont start automatic

This was my sons car unfortunately he took his own life in December last year at the age of 23, what he also took with him were the BMW keys, so i posted it up for sale with no keys , clean title come get it, so this guy tells me he will come out and change the door locks, glove-box lock and ignition and the trunk lock and have keys for it all , $125 i'm in, so he comes out and does this he ends up taking the whole column out and replacing it with a column and key set that matched all the door locks and glove-box locks, i believe he changed out the ecu under the hood that matched as well i didn't have a battery at the time so off he goes , now car has gone through 2 winters here in OHIO burr now its summer i got a battery and it wont start it turns over like it wants to start but it hasn't yet so basically its been sitting for 2 years now , any advise will help thanks

Sorry about the loss of your son.

Now concerning the original loss of keys,
you should have inquired at your local BMW dealership about key replacement,
and the procedure-documents required.
Definitely much easier than the route you took, well lesson learned.

After 2yrs of down time without proper storage prep, here are some basic startup preps:
Drain fuel and dispose of properly.
Replace fuel filter.
Replace sparkplugs.
Replace fuel with a minimum amount of fuel 2~3gal.,
in addition to fuel injector cleaner added to fuel(Techron,Lucas)

is there a way to drain the fuel ???

Since we really don't know how smart the guy is who did the work, I would tow it to a good bmw shop to see if they can get it started. As said above replacement keys could have been ordered from the dealer.
