hey people, new in the vert section but longtime member. anyway just took out the wifes 95 325ic from storage after 4...long.. years, and discovered or maybe i forgot the the rear passenger speaker was bad. i want to replace both with 5.25 speakers but read one thread where the member was having problems with wiring.i would think that its pretty straight forward. if anything different please chime in.thanks!
Old question, but the wiring is straightforward. Just remember you want all speakers to be in-phase with one another + wire to + terminal.
Out of phase, you'll lose Bass response, and also get some strange audio effects.

I assume you have the HiFi or HK HiFi system with tweeters then. The base system only has 4".
Assuming you have the HK with tweeters, the main problem you'll have in the rear wiring is the crossovers. The factory pair has a very simple (IIRC) coil/capacitor style. Any new component style set will likely have it's own external crossover. As for the speakers, there's something else to be aware of. Most of the ones in the market assume you'll be doing a surface mount. In other words the back of the speaker is the part that contacts when mounted. The existing bracket is a hang mount style and the face of the speaker contacts when mounted. Speakers that are meant to be hang mounted usually have a guard or spacer around the cone on the face. But then again, spacing it out reduces the fitment depth. In my case I used one without a spacer and simply enlarged the mounting hole on the bracket to clear the cone and surround.
Finally for whatever you actually have, brown wire or brown stripe wire will be the negative wire.

I have their stage I setup and it sounds good to me....I'm not an audiophile, so I'm not sure if it is horrible, but I don't have any complaints. Plus, these speakers plug right into your existing connectors
