Is Consumer Reports right? Bad News for 5 Series

I just got my Buying Guide for 2018. On Page 185 in a sidebar titled "Worst of the Worst" it list BMW 5 Series. On Page 190 unser "Cars to Avoid" it list BMW 5 Series - 06 to 08, 10 to 12, and 15. I was going to start looking for a 5 in those year ranges, 06 through 013 anyway, now I'm wondering. Any thoughts?

IMO CR focuses 95% on reliability and 5% on other misc factors (ie styling, comfort, user experience, etc). we're all realistic enough to know bimmers don't rank relatively high on reliability but that's the hallmark of bimmer owners. I've been lucky enough to not have experienced any nightmarish problems with my cars...'99 e36 '07 e90 '08 e92 (sold) and '13 f10. family growing so looking for e70. good luck man
