Appears to have been very well bought.
I didn't realize that the '92 and '93 models were so much more rare than the '91. Strangely, if you search BAT for 850i auctions, every single six-speed model that has auctioned was listed as a 1992.
I've got a '92 six-speed sitting out in my shop. Well, I believe it's designated as a '92 model year, but I'm not sure about the production date -- would have to check the plate. It's a bit of a basketcase, and for a while now I've been saying that I'm approaching the point that I have to get started on it or get rid of it to focus on other projects. Jury is still out on whether to poop or get off the pot...
Cheers, John

'93 is the "rarest" of the non CSi 6spd exported to North America. Before buying my '93 automatic 13yrs ago I spent nearly a year searching for a 6spd '93 and only found one. The day I called the seller he'd just sold it. California probably has the greatest concentration of E31's and I've only seen one '93 6spd here in 20yrs.
Yes, that was a good deal on that '92.
1993 850Ci.....18 years & 165,000 miles and counting!
actually, '94 is the absolute rarest of the non CSi 6-speeds... there was/is only ONE.

Here's the numbers (I copied from a post I submitted when I sold my '92 6-speed on BaT in June):
There were 847 non-CSi 6 speeds built for the North American market (MY 1991-1994). The breakdown is:
– 528 for ’91
– 212 for ’92
– 106 for ’93
– 1 for ’94 (I’d love to have that one)
There were 225 CSi’s for North America in MY 1994-1995.
– 155 for ’94
– 70 for ’95
BTW, BaT might be a great place to sell your '92 basket case DukeGrad. I see projects on there all the time. They usually start out as No Reserve, but in the end they generally bring good money.
