Type of plastic used for rear bumper

Hi all,

I am attempting to weld some material to patch some damage on my wagon's rear bumper. Does anyone know what kind of plastic it is? I can not find any markings to indicate the type of plastic.

Look a little closer, all plastic parts are supposed to have an indicator as to type of plastic used. BMW pretty good about that recycling stuff, made quite a point of it some years ago. You may not realize what the type of plastic code looks like, some are not as obvious as "ABS" etc., using numbers, so a little research should turn up various codes used, then you can look for them.

Alternatively, post the markings you find and possibly someone will interpret them for you.

You are right. The markings are on the bumper cover. The PP polypropylene label was behind the bumper bar.
