Spring and strut question

I have a 2006 330i with non sport suspension. I am wanting to put new struts and lowering springs on my car. My question is would I be able to buy struts for a car with sports suspension since I am planning on only lowering about 1”. I think the control arms are the same on sport and non sport. I’m just trying to match up the shocks and springs. Please don’t hammer me if this question has been asked before. I searched and didn’t really find a for sure answer. Thought surely someone has done or tried it. Thanks in advance
