So here's a e31 eye candy money shot. A long time local chapter heavyweight I've known since I've owned this car (over 14 years) writes for BMW Blog. He's doing a segment on the new 8, starting with the historical perspective of the original.
He borrowed my car for a week recently (traded me, so I drove his e92 M3) and he did a professional shoot at the executive airport. My son's a pilot and works line there for the summer and hooked us up with hangar access and pulled this Citation out to set up this shot.
I'll have more soon, and will post up the video links as well.
I'm going to blow this up poster size for the garage.

Wow! What a shot!
I'm in Lawrence - how did I not know this car was so close? I should have felt the 8er gods speaking to me.

Absolutely! Here you go; https://www.thegreatcarshow.com/ Check the site Saturday late afternoon. There is a slight chance of rain, and rain date is 8/5.
The site shows that all registration openings are sold out, which means well over 400 cars will be there. I'll be in the VIP section (not sure where that is yet). There will be quite a few from the chapter there, including a very long time member who is an independent dealer bringing his Z8.
Welcome to the area! I know the owners of a few e31's in the area, but you just don't see them out all that much. If you want to make the drive in on Saturday as well you should check out the KC Cars & Coffee event (Saturday AM 7:00 - 11:00-ish) at StoneGate Motor Plaza. Look them up on Facebook. There's usually 300+ cars that show up for that too. Informal, but brings out a bunch of exotics (Lambos, Ferrari, Aston, McLaren). It's crazy what people have in there garages around here.
Stop by Sunday if you make it out, would love to meet you!
Selfishly I'll be praying for rain. I leave on vacation Saturday morning but will be back for the rain date of the 5th.
I brought my CSi to the BMW Cars & Coffee event earlier this month. Would love to make an appearance at another event you guys will be attending in the future.

Nice shot....there's something about an E31 posed with a jet aircraft that accentuates the car's lines even more.
Nice lighting effect too....but is it just my eyes, or is the gap/step at the leading edge of the hood a little more pronounced than usual?
It's certainly a bigger shadow line than I'm used to seeing there - almost looks like the hood is not fully shut - but I guess this could just be a trick of the lighting conditions.
Current:
1994 E31 850CSi Sterlingsilber/Anthracite Buffalo
Previous:
1987 E28 M5 Delphin
1986 E23 M745iA Arctic Blue
1986 E24 635CSi Polaris
1976 E3 3.0 Si Arctic Blue
I might suggest adjusting the hood latches ever so slightly and possibly raising the rear (towards the cowl/glass) to get the right angle. Shouldn't lift much with the latches adjusted. You can cheat and add a shim if needed. Very dense rubber (high durometer rating, think shopping cart wheels) has a nice isolating effect as well.
