I am about due to replace my hubs, found these dual drilled hubs on ebay, they are about $200 more than standard, what are your thoughts on a setup like this? Better off to buy a standard set of hubs and have them drilled and tapped? Buy these and call it good?

I wanna read opinions too.
What wheel would you use?
I can't find OEM wheels with Bore Diam >= BMW's 72.56mm.
none
5x114.3 means I could run a ton of different wheels I dont have any picked out at the moment though, getting the center bore to 72.56mm is pretty easy and cheap at any machine shop
Next time I replace hubs I’ll probably do that. I’ve been running ichiba adapters and they’ve been fine. Most Japanese wheels are 73.1 hub bore.
There was a guy on here that did hubs in 5x114 that he sold I believe
Those $600 Johnnies are just redrilled ebay hubs .. why not do it yourself with the PBM template, or have a local machine shop do it? Probably be like 1/3 of the cost. I believe he's using these hubs

i know some other people in this subforum talked about dual drilling hubs to 5x114 but one of the things is that some of the hubs are like the ones pictures below where the material is thicker where the 5x120 holes are...
So obviosuly you would want to make sure that if you were to dual drill that the material is the same around the whole hub. I know the hubs I replaced for my front wheels were like the picture I posted, the front was smooth but where the holes were drilled the material was thicker on the back of the hub
With my discount at NAPA just new good quality hubs are $300 and I found a local shop that will drill the hubs and rotors for under $200
I just don't get it I guess. If you're buying new wheels why not just get them in 5x120? It's not like that's a rare size. With that said I do have a set of Ichiba adapters floating around, but that's because I have about 10 wheels for my RX7 in 114 already
I want to get a set of older split 3 spoke advans, they never made them in 5x120 and with adapters the offset would have to be really high to fit under my fenders. I have a thing for late 90's/early 2000's jdm wheels and those are really hard to find in 5x120
ahhh ok that makes more sense than!
$200 for a shop to drill both the hubs and the rotors isn't a bad deal. I'd reuse my existing rear hubs to save some cash, but that's me

I joined just to say this. My friend and I are the ones that sell those hubs. They are most certainly NOT eBay hubs as stated by another member. We only use FAG or Febi Bilstein hubs. They will most likely outlast the car they’re going on, hence the price tag. Sure, we could use inferior quality hubs and make it cheaper, but we both feel like something as important as, you know, holding a wheel on the car is not an area we’d cheap out on.
Thanks
Glad they are a quality unit, glad you chimed in man, thanks for the info!
