2007 z4 3.0i with 145K
last month while driving, there a shift noise the car go to slow mode. with the following Yellow warning lights. Electric power steering, automatic transmission, DSC, and brake. So I pulll in the side and restart and everything going away. Car drive normally. It occasionally has Service Engine Soon warning light. It begins to happen more often last 5 days almost once daily.
Check the battery, cold voltage is 12.49V
This morning , the z4 crank but could not start. Once it starts, all the warning lights are on ( Electric power steering, automatic transmission, DSC, brake, and Service Engine soon, the car is running slow. and the power steering is very stiff. hard to turn.
Has been research to see any clue. after check all the fuses and power distribution control module. Fuse look ok . do not know about Power distribution control module. Restart the car and very thing run normally. '
Went to auto zone to scan:
It took a while but the follow error code show up:
P0355 Camshaft Postion Sensor? A?Circ Malfunction
P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
P1727
Read through few forums. One suggest to change the power distribution Control Module.
Any suggestions
Thanks
Most plausible is Crank position sensor.
First attempt to remove,clean,re-install CKP sensor.
clear codes, perform new scan after short drive cycle.
If no improvement, replace.
ONLY replace ANY BMW sensor with a Genuine BMW OE Replacement Part.
Unless you enjoy chasing electrical gremlins or electronic anomalies.
How to clear the codes
AutoZone?
Unless you plan on purchasing a BMW scan tool.
