I want(ed) to buy avoltage regulator for my alternator but the genuine Bosch units costmore than a brand-new Bosch alternator on Amazon. I've heard of theMonark brand VR, suggesting it is better than other aftermarketstuff, and see some for sale at around $80 on ebay from overseassellers, but wonder maybe I should just go ahead and get a new Boschalt instead.
Only question thereis, are the Bosch units now made in China, and are the VRs as good asthe old Bosch these cars came with? Anyone feel free to chime in with yourexperiences.
I have a Bosch at home (as spare) Bosch AL0703N is made in Mexico.
Check with the seller to be sure.
According to FCPEuro, it is now made in S. Africa:

Hey cnn, I've seen your posts about it before and that was what led me to check out the ones on Amazon. Bosch probably has several outsourced arrangements going worldwide, and hopefully they have better quality control compared to the fly-by-night brands. I may have to pick one of these up while I still can.
Don't worry about outsource.
Mexico QC is good.
S. Africa QC is good too.
Great bearings as factory.
The only place I don't trust is China. Never know what the Chinese throw in the Bosch alternators.
But I like Chinese Dim Sum...
