I pulled this out of a 1989/90 iX and have been informed that it may be something special? Or am I being sold a line of bull?
This is the Email I got on it: "That’s big dollars right there! Any idea what you have? There’s 2 dead giveaways in your picture distinctly showing how unique that engine is! That’s not the original ix engine. Wow far and few".

Yeah, That's what I was thinking as well. I have no reason to believe it isn't the original engine in the iX that is came out of.

Does it have the hole in the oilpan for the driveshafts?
So what is a nice reasonably low-mile (115k) strong running M20B25+trans worth these days? Debating pulling mine for a M30 swap.
Nothing I can see that would suggest anything but a normal iX M20B25. (Slightly different block that the regular M20B25.)
