Question 545i Inner Tie rod/rack boot replacement without disturbing alignment DIY?

Hello everyone, first post with this forum.
    2005 BMW 545i
I was doing an oil change and noted the right side inner tie rod boot is cracked, the material was very brittle i guess.
Is there any way I can replace the boot without messing with the alignment?
I initially thought I can cut the old boot out and then unscrew the inner tie rod nut so I can slide over the new boot. I noted the boot comes with a narrow end on one side which wont allow it to go over the inner tie rod nut.

Maybe some has a better idea they can share!!

    Thank you

***I have attached generic pictures for reference

You may replicate the rod length on the new one to get close. But you should still have an alignment performed.
