Guys,
Another problem that I need your input: passenger seat is stuck all the way back such way I cannot get to the bolts in the rear. The seat is not moving, but the seat is powered and the switch works as I was able to to see a current increase when moving the switches. Is there a method to manually move the seat forward in order to access the seat bolts ?
Thank you,
Jean
Well, I went back to the garage, grabbed a glass of red wine and started thinking...a couple of months ago I was able to "unstuck" the sunroof by dismantling the sunroof motor, cleaning the rotor and shoes, all the rods and...it works like a charm!!So, I looked under the front side of the passenger seat and noticed that one can stick a small hex in the end of the seat motor(is the rotor axle end) that is facing the front of the car. I did insert the hex, turned a couple of times, just enough to "break" the oxidation created in between the "shoes" ( I am missing the right term) and the rotor, and when I pushed the button…. the seat started moving!!!. The rest is history...I moved all the way to the front, tilted it, removed it....and did the same with the other motors: all work but the backrest.
Hop-e this helps,
Jean

you can use a flat 4mm screwdriver to move the seat, see here in one of my posts the attachment https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...orward-or-back
