I just replaced my accelerator cable ( old one had the plastic near the adjuster go to shit). It was such a battle to remove the clip inside the firewall that i wound up tearing out the cable without paying much attention to the routing. I also was puzzled by how the darn hook would stay in the pedal linkage ( just discovered the rubber parts I found on the carpet were a grommet that the cable goes through). Need to buy that and pull the dash apart again.
Question is.... can someone attach some pictures that show how the cable is routed around the dipstick and other parts? That would be a huge help.
Id be happy to take some pictures for you after i get out of work around 5..the metal hook never stayed in place for me so I just ziptied it nice and tight to the linkage. Probably missing some parts of it..but zipties do the job haha

Thanks. Appreciate any and all pictures.
I bought and installed the grommet on the linkage with the accelerator hook. Was a pain to push into place but it makes sense now and the throttle adjustmwnt
Sorry I got a little caught up, i’ve been lending the car out to my brother..I took a few pics but its pretty straight forward routing, nothing crazy. I’m definitely no photographer.

Great. Not the way I routed it. I will probably move it so that it doesn't contact the vibrating engine and cause undue wear. Thanks njnick
No problem. I pulled it out a bit to see it better so it should be fine up against the intake..
