    Determine faulty coil? (M44)

I did a spark plug job a while ago, noticed that when I swapped coil places the car would run really rough (misfire,)
but go back to normal when I put it back into place. M44 has ignition coil "pack", so it isn't possible to replace only one of them..
am I in for the whole replacement?

Do you mean you wired the coil to the wrong plugs? If so, that's why it was running rough - cylinder sparking at the wrong time. Or do you mean something else?

I think your explanation is spot on. So I numbered the wires (apparently in wrong order, 2-3 was swapped IIRC) before taking them off and the car ran rough when I put back in, so I switched 2-3 and it ran normal.
Guess I can still use my coil pack!
