Team orders were pathetic. Enjoy that 'win', Lewie.

This is a real problem because it flies in the face of F1's DNA.

What used to be maximum attack sprint races are now endurance races which only last as long as sprint races.

Unfortunate and unsurprising result of the engine regulations: maximum effort is penalized.

    funny u say this

I have felt the same, and Ive never felt this way during the last 15 yrs.

But in general, I still prefer to watch the race and see the little things that occur

but to compare it to the 70/80 or 90s?...no way

and I fully understand team orders..., its part of the sport. Do u think Botttas woulda beat Hamie?

Bottas had one chance at the restart, his fresher tyres warmed up faster. He couldnt make the pass stick. After that, why keep fighting when you have a guaranteed 1-2. And it wasnt even clear who would win, HAM tires were up to temp after first lap. Mercedes board was on track, its the home race, the thug decided to become a farmer plowing the outer areas of the track, slam dunk really.

I suspect Merc was trying to cover a time penalty for Ham's pitlane infringement. Had Bottas got through Lewis will fall into the clutched of Kimi. If they incur at least a 5 sec penalty they would end up with a 1-3 instead.

There's a reason why the Japanese 2005 has always been hailed as one the best races. It wouldn't have happened if they only trundled down the track.
