Folks,
I recently picked up a 2001 - 740IL, really good condition with only 90,000 kilometers on the odometer. It has the timing guide issue so i don't drive it. I bought the repair kit from OEM bimmerpatrs but need some help in doing the repairs. Is there anyone in the Toronto/London area who has experience in this task that is willing to give me a hand? How much would you charge for helping me out?
shak. g
It's a fairly involved job, and there's tons of other stuff you should replace while you are doing the work. Most shops in the USA are going to charge $2000-$4000 USD. Just fyi

It’s too bad you’re in Canada... I have a shop down here in Phoenix where I do the guides for around $1600 labor. I’ve done 15 of em so far, going to start the 16th one next week.
