1999 E36 M3 Body Harness Swap

Has anyone done a complete body harness swap? Picking up an m3 with a hacked up body harness and will need to swap the entire thing out. Would love to speak to someone who has already done this for tips, etc.

Pre-heat the entire harness. It is much easier to work with when it is a malleable like that.

Have you ever done it? Video definitely shows a lot. I’d love to see exactly what needs to be pulled in order to get that harness out. I’ve read that people even pull the motor. Car is an estoril manual coupe for $3000

You're basically going to be pulling the entire interior out(dash, carpet, seats). The harness will be coming out and back through the fuse box location.

Does this include the heater core? I found one write up that began to describe the process, the guy had to remove the heater core to get all of the wiring out. I just ordered the Bentley service manual, hopefully that helps with the reinstallation. Does the 1999 M3 have a pretty specific harness or would one from an e36 HK coupe work?

Yes you have to pull the Hvac unit.
