Spring compressor brand

I'm in the process of replacing the front struts on my wife's '07 E90 335xi auto. My Evercraft spring compressors, which have worked admirably on many struts before, have a nice deep safe hook which unfortunately does not bring the spring coils close enough together to disengage on this strut.
What brands of compressor have people had good results with?
