Hey guys, long time nothing posted.
Actually, i have an e39 wagon, where i putted a 535d brake, ickl wheel carrier in.
I took the wishbone of an e60, but the tension strut i took of e39, with the e60 struts cresent styled plates. (i hope you know what i mean)
How ever, is there a way to get the e60 tension struts fitting in my e39 frame? Has anyone made a soimilar conversion?
No ideas? Is there any way to change the wheel sided bearing?
You can use e60 bearings and hubs on e39’s. There are other posts on this topic. On one hand, it gives you more wheel options 72.65mm hub vs 74.1mm - so you will need hub rings to keep your e39 rims centered
Don't go messing around with control arms on different models. That's a good way to end up with dangerous handling.
As CPHES said, you can use E60 front wheel bearings/hub assemblies on a standard E39 wheel carrier, which would eliminate the need for spacers for E60 wheels, and many aftermarket BMW wheels (like those offered by APEX).
FCP Euro sells a good kit:

I recommend bearings made by F.A.G. (yes, that's the company name).

What do you guys think wheel bore to 74.1 or hub conversion to e60 for my e39
Question is why? Bearing noise or looking for optional wheels not available in 74.1 MM bore size? If the later install the rings or install the bearings is a matter of effort. Personally I would go the bearing route if I wanted say a later wheel type, as this swap will resolve two issues new vs old bearing life cycles and potential balance issues and fitment issues later. Multiple people have posted their results of either effort.

Yeah. Some particular Wheel choice only? And the factory wheels are borked? Use spacers or bore. Otherwise it’s an assload of work just to have __whatever____ wheels on the car...
But if you say have another bmw and 3 track wheel sets to reuse, or bearings are in need... well that’s maybe time to make conversion.

All you need are e60 bearings. Leave the rest alone.
