(2.9L Built M20 Turbo) Can you review my tune?

from what i remember of my m20 i couldn't run over like 10-11psi without pinging on 91.
had to switch to meth injection since e85 was not common at the time.

i tried to lower timing and it was just slow and didn't really help the pinging issue.
also it would overboost with anything under 17*

Seems low I agree. Maybe it's the cam. My buddy was running a Schrick 288 I believe at the time.

I don't remember having ign. values that low with the stock 885 cam... when I have some time to dig through some older logs/maps from when it was just a stock M20 with headstuds around 400whp I can let you know.

Which baffles me, because some people get away with 17+ psi on pump gas yet we’re here struggling to even get decent timing at only 11psi

sounds like you're trying to say m20 vs m20 18psi could be 500hp or 120hp you never know.


is there not a general rule with where 93/91 starts to ping on an m50?

on the street yeah 13psi didn't ping from what i remember but when you put it on the freeway it will start to ping under high load.
so there is also that.
