    No crank/start, EWS? Starter? Grounds?

Anyone have a 1998 M3 EWS Module for sale
    Located on Long Island
    Have no crack issue
Battery was fully charged and tested
Had key in second position for a few hours (battery died) while wiring headlights + swapped 2 fuses out (were very burnt)
    Now no crank/start

Check the engine ground strap by hooking a jumper cable from the lift point on the vanos to a nut on the strut tower and then trying to start the car

Hook up INPA and see what is actually up

Others have done this before, should not have left key in ignition. You might have to trace wires to see what has melt/burnt out.

Do you have another key? Tried to start with another key if you had one?

Probably the short circuit is not the problem you have, but that you left key in ignition for several hours could be the problem if the battery voltage got below 11V.

But I tried the other key
    Locked all doors
    Shut trunk twice
Maybe since my convertible top is disengaged ? As of now the issue is that the driver side tonnaeu motor wire(that screws onto the latches had ripped when I was resetting the fully automatic top

Did you check all the fuses? For EWS and auto transmission there are fuses no. 28, 31 and 45. Also, do you know if your EWS does see the transmission in P or N position as your car is with automatic transmission? What were the fuse numbers of the blown fuses?

Your melted wires, you need to expose the wiring and find what you ruined.
