    Repairing Trim Around Hatch

Hey guys, recently picked up my touring, and some trim pieces are not able to stay around the surround for the hatch. They are simple pop in style with flat plastic prongs that fit into little metal clips. Most of the prongs are missing, and the replacement pieces are ridiculously expensive; like 140 dollars for one of them, and I need to repair 3. I find this unnecessary and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for repairing these pieces.

I can take a picture later if need be.

I’ve heard reference to tab repair kids bc they’re what always break... but I have never done it nor seen a link to said kit so it might be like a unicorn...

Either way you aren’t alone. I was even half considering a new bottom inside hatch piece. They’re crazy money tho.

Honestly an absurd amount of money for something that's not even truly broken. SMH BMW.

Yep, they’re all brittle at this age. I’ve been meaning to use right angle pieces of metal, cut in the needs lengths, and pixies to the trim panels. But..... for now, the Dual Loc Velcro works great, just went with that, forgot about doing the fix.

Look up “Sugru”. I’ve used it successfully on plastic.
It comes in many colors and is the best thing I’ve used for repairing all things plastic.
