I had a blow out last night driving to work in my 535d. I'm running the stock run flats on it. I had to get towed to the dealer because the tire suffered catastrophic damage and I'm sure traveling 80 miles an hour didn't help. I have only had the car 1 year but the no spare tire has been on my mind a lot. So I'm in the market for a spare to carry around. Lots of choices on ebay, craigslist and facebook marketplace. Lots of high prices too. Any suggestions? I really dont want to spend hundreds of dollars for a spare. I found a spare locally from a 2003 330 series that's a great price. How do I determine if it will fit my 5 series? I'm aware wheel spacers may need to be added but other than buying the wheel and trying to put it on my car I have no idea if it will work.
Hello - take a look at the link below. They suggest a 155/70-18 (Maxxis) wheel.

yes I noticed several spare tire kits like that in the 300-400 dollar range. That is absolutely insane price for a spare tire. I will figure out something else for my 5 series.
