Style 18 Wheel Center Cap Emblem

Last weekend the 20 year old adhesive on one of my center cap emblems decided it no longer wanted to do its one and only job.

Real OEM tells me 36136767547 is the part number for the emblem and it is no longer available. Does anyone know of an alternative solution? Or the diameter of the emblem?

    Get this part#: 36136783536
It's a solid one, no adhesive, like the hood emblem.

I was hoping to replace just the one, but yeah probably should replace all for consistency's sake. Thanks for the PN.

Appreciate the offer. I went ahead and ordered a full replacement set. If anything, the new center caps will give me a kick in the butt to start the wheel re-finishing process.

I just had new tires put on, and they were balanced. After a 20 minute drive I then noticed that 2 of my wheel caps (on passenger side) had come off. I cant tell if those are OEM but it looks like it came unglued and the base remained.

I called the shop to ask if they were laying around in shop or in lot. The owner said he would replace them, but I dont really feel they should as it just seems this is part of owning a car like this (correct me if I am wrong though)

    1) These likely came loose as they were disturbed by the wheel maintenance. So, I cant fault the tire shop, right? I mean this is from a 1998 Z3.
    2) I am finding an OEM replacement but its 15.00 a piece (I dont mind if that is the better. I dont like spending 5.00 multiple times when crap fails)
    Ex> about 20.00 per - Amazon link - BMW 36-13-6-783-536 1 Series 3 Series 5 Series M Models X3 SAV X5 SAV Z4 Models 6 Series Hubcap
    3) but while I do say #2, I do lower cost ones out there. I cant tell from pictures obviously but should I avoid them or are they a worthwhile bargain in this case?
    Ex> 4 for about 20.00 - Ebay seller (sports_mart2020) - says its 36136783536 but is it really?

The cheap ones fade (or rather the colour 'washes away') over a year or so, but if you don't mind that it's not a problem. I clear coated the last cheap one I bought to see if it would help.

The original center caps had a glued on decal and they commonly fail after about a decade. The new ones, part #36136783536, are solid and are better. As you have learned, about $16-18 each online. eBay stuff is frequently crap and the Amazon parts are often counterfeit. I recommend buying all of your car parts from a reputable seller. There is a great family owned store in NC called Bimmerbum, run by a Z-car enthusiast, who only sells genuine parts and offers unmatched knowledge and customer service. Prices are competitive, not rock bottom, but you are sure to get exactly the right part for your needs.

Thank you both. I will avoid the ebay seller as it seems too good to be true.

The amazon link I provided is from the BMW Store and that Amazon seller appears to be legit BMW in the Amazon marketplace.
I WILL keep note of bimmerbum as you mentioned above for future items.

I replaced mine with 'blackout' emblems I bought on Amazon and kept the originals which are in pretty good shape. PM me if you want them and I'll mail them out for the cost of a small flat-rate USPS box which is $10.40

Thank you for the offer. I had just received my replacements today and popped them in.

Interestingly so, 2 that didn't fly off are newer and just like my replacements with the chrome on outerside. Much nicer.

I bought some cheap ones on AliExpress ($10 a set) and the blue is the wrong shade. Also the back has a BMW P/N and "made in italy" so I bet a lot of the $20 sets on eBay/Amazon stuff are just knock offs if they say it or not.
