    Touring in New Jersey

I was watching Chasing Classic Cars on Velocity last night and while Wayne was inspecting a Lamborghini in some ladies garage in New Jersey, there was this touring sitting next to the wall with stuff stacked all over it. Looks like about a 1995 Cashmere Beige model with optional wheels, and if I were to hazard a guess, probably a 530i V8. I'm thinking it's much easier to maintain the six cylinder which would probably be more likely to be driven vs stored away. The V8 can have problems that get it relegated to a non driver pretty quickly. Anyway, looks in great cosmetic shape and maybe worth a call to Wayne at F40 Motors to see if it's for sale or if he's willing to give you any contact info. I have one already but it sure is tempting to make that call. Some TV pics.

    Mine.

This may be "common knowledge", but having owned both, I can tell you it's baloney. The only thing harder on an M60 is one motormount and the steerbox, and a few things are actually easier (blower motor, vacuum lines, air filter...).

Not to rain on the parade, but what's the big deal? A beige Touring pops up (on the west coast) about once every week or two. That one does look clean... like it's sat in that garage since someone's tech stocks took a dump circa 2001 and now all rubber parts have disintegrated.

What moroza said about the V8 models. The oil seals on the driver side motor mount can be a pain if they're leaking also.

I think he’s just talking about the m60 in general...Valve covers on the m60 take more time cuz there are 2 sides , valley pans, ccv terrible design, sump sprocket bolt falls off... The m60 is a great motor I love mine, but it definitely requires more attention than an m50. A clean touring on the east coast is almost impossible to find we have this thing called rust haha

Yeah, I've owned them both too mate and also have 14 years experience in a BMW dealership service department. When it comes to cost of maintenance the V8 usually suffers the most and likely to get cut loose, or parked, first. I can tell you how many I've seen towed out of the dealership over the years due to cost. As for beige, it's not about the color but what you do with the color. :-)
