I understand how to modify my ZCS/SA have done so and been successful
Recently retrofitted LCM3b and RLS to my 2000 (prod date 99) 540i
I see the RLS file in the daten/e39 folder to get into the sensors programming with NCS but I cannot figure out what ZCS combination might yield me some access to this sensor (DSP was a no brainer)
can anyone shed some light on this for me?
I have figured it out i jumped the gun on asking for help
if anyone else ends up in this thread via google....
you have to use Zeko to generate a new SA/ZCS key combination for a 2001+ 540i in order for NCS expert to "think" you have a RLS to be coded (either that or feature code 0385 which is comfort windshield for RLS) one of those two things yielded me RLS as a codable module in NCS
Hey Zarboz,,
I justretrofitted an LCM3b, RLS and Automatic headlight switch to my 2000 (prod date 99) 528i.
how do I add the RLS to my SA/ZCS? what the option code for the RLS?
I understand how to code. a few years back I retrofitted Navigation and a new cluster to my car and they're still operation perfect. I just want to know the option code for RLS and do I have to remove any option code to add this code?
Unfortunately coding the ZCS is not the same as recoding VO's on later cars. Which is much easier and more pleasant to deal with. Add option code, remove code, and, all the codes themselves are easy to find and same that show up on a VIN decode...
For ZCS you need to use a software tool to encode-it, or, deeply immerse yourself in the database files that come with the tools and figure out how to bit-encode options etc. etc. (aka not gonna happen nor worth it.)
The software tools are Zeko (zarboz mentions above), or, SA decoder (there were 2 versions of that program IIRC). Both are hard to find these days.
The second problem is finding which option to turn on/off, as I say its not as easy as VO cars, but zarboz has nicely posted that for you I guess...
The other way to go is hand-enter a VIN/ZCS from a car that DID have RLS, that should then show the RLS module as avaiable, and that would work fine.... however you'd have to read the VIN/ZCS from an optioned up car to do that.
Optoin 3 would be you can also force NCS to read and code the module in Expert mode by picking the right config files but thats a pretty big PITA and unfriendly as possibly can be.
Which is why recoding the ZCS w/ Zeko is probably the simplest way to go...
