looking for recommendations for GPS conversion stereo 2004 3 series

I just purchased a 2004 325i 4 door with Business CD player. Want to upgrade to a GPS unit looks like I need to move the HVAC controls. Any suggestions ? what to watch out for. I keep seeing E46 how do I know that is what I have ?

Go to the E46Fanatics website. There are a zillion threads in the audio subsection. Dynavin is considered the gold standard for the E46.

E46 is the chassis code for BMW 3 series from 1999-2006. I've found Crutchfield's site to be really helpful. They have a great configurator where you plug in your make/model/year and the populated results are only those that fit your specific model. This saves a lot of guess work - take a look at the link below if you're curious.

You’ll need to look for double DIN (DD) units. “DIN” is the world standard for head unit dimensions. “Double DIN” merely means that the head unit is 2x larger in the vertical dimension. Go to E46Fanatics audio section. It’s the best for the E46.
